Become a Friend of JFS
JFS is supported by local and national foundations, corporate grants, the United Jewish Federation of Utah, and private donations. See below for the numerous ways that you can help JFS remain an open door to those in need.
Your gift makes a difference! You enable us to help people of all faiths address life's challenges:
- $75 provides 1 hour of in-home services to an isolated older adult.
- $150 provides for a comprehensive assessment and care plan for an older adult.
- $300 counsels a family in crisis to help them cope with addiction, job loss, depression, grief and other emotional challenges.
- $500 provides one month of respite care for a caregiver.
- $750 provides emergency assistance to prevent a family's homelessness.
Honor those close to you and support JFS at the same time. Make a donation in any amount to JFS "In honor of ..." - "In memory of ..." - "In celebration of ..." - "For the speedy recovery of ..." and JFS will send a lovely Tribute Card on your behalf to the designated recipient with your requested sentiments. A tribute card is a convenient and thoughtful way to acknowledge any occasion in the lives of others while supporting the fine work of Jewish Family Service.
Give the gift of food! We provide food assistance to eligible indviduals and families who are facing financial crises through our on-site food pantry. The number of people utilizing food pantries is growing due to economic hardship, rising food prices and cuts to government assistance. Food bank visits are increasingly made by folks who have never needed any social service programs in the past. The economy remains difficult for many people - these folks are your friends and neighbors who have fallen on hard times. Please bring your gifts of non-perishable food items to JFS, 1111 East Brickyard Road, Suite 218. Or call 801.746.4334 for more information.
Gas & Grocery Gift Cards
Contribute gift cards from local grocery stores & gas stations such as Smith's, Wal-Mart, Harmon's, Maverick, Sinclair, etc. Gift cards enable people to purchase what they need, when they need it. If you would like to contribute a gift card, please send it to:

Designated Days of Online Giving
JFS participates in the state-wide LoveUTGiveUT fundraising campaign in March and Park City-based LivePCGivePC fundraising campaign in November every year. On these annual online fundraising days local communities come together for 24 hours of virtual giving - initiatives of The Community Foundation of Utah and The Park City Community Foundation, respectively. It's your chance to make an impact for nonprofits that help make Utah a great place to live. Watch for notices on JFS's website for dates of these upcoming campaigns.
Gifts of Stock
This is a mutually beneficial option for donor and recipient, as under certain circumstances capital gains tax may be avoided if stock is donated rather than sold first. (Consult a tax advisor. This is not legal nor tax advice.)
Ask your employer if they have a matching gift program - an easy way to double your donation to JFS!
State or Federal Employee Campaigns
If you are a state or federal employee there are designated ways you can donate to JFS through payroll deduction.
