We hope you will plan to join us for JFS’ Silver Soirée, set for Sunday, August 20, at 6:30pm on the Sundance Terrace at the Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City. The evening will be a fundraising event and retirement celebration honoring Ellen Silver, our beloved Executive Director and friend. Ellen will step down in the fall of 2023 after 19 years of service.
We hope you will consider being a sponsor of this special event.
Dear Friends,
With great gratitude for her years of dedication and commitment, the Board of Directors of Jewish Family Service announces the pending retirement of Ellen Silver, our beloved Executive Director and friend. Ellen will step down in the fall of 2023 after 19 years of service, allowing time for the JFS staff to prepare for her departure and the Board to carefully plan for her successor. To say that Ellen will be missed does not do justice to the impact she’s had on the organization.
You are invited to attend a special celebration of a year of our Arts & Aging programs on Thursday, June 15 from 6 to 8 pm at the Sorenson Unity Center, located at 1383 S 900 W, Salt Lake City.
This is a free event, and RSVPs are strongly encouraged. RSVP here.
Special thanks to Michele Roepke for contributing this story and photo
Hal Wolf, 88, with his PhD from the University of Utah and his faculty tenure, has walked the campus paths before. Walking the Red Butte Garden paths Friday, however, may have seemed like a fresh activity this April day, and that’s understandable to his wife of 65 years, Joan, a PhD and faculty member from the U as well.
Admiring the bright yellow daffodils with them is Rosemary Quatrale, Older Adult Care Manager at JFS, who organizes the Dementia-Friendly Activity the Wolf’s are enjoying.
