Gleeful Choir

Established in 2017. the Gleeful Choir is a free choir for dementia clients and their caregivers. As dementia progresses, people still retain the ability to sing their favorite music. Come enjoy success, contribution, connection, and creativity as a member of our chorus! Now offered virtually.

The Gleeful Choir is co-sponsored by Congregation Kol Ami, Jewish Family Service, and EngAGE Utah.
Emily Christensen, a board-certified music therapist, is the Director.

  • No musical experience necessary.
  • Membership is open to persons living with dementia with their care partner.
  • Attend weekly rehearsals and mingle.
    • Rehearsals are currently over Zoom due to Covid-19.
    • Choir meets every Wednesday at 1:00 pm.
    • Rehearsals would normally take place at Congregation Kol Ami.
  • Quarterly performance opportunities.
  • Vocal or instrumental solos available for those who are interested.
  • Easy access to a beautiful and calming rehearsal space.
  • Songbooks contain lyrics only - familiar songs will be utilized. No need to read music.
  • Directed by a board certified music therapist.
  • Free of charge!
